Another SMWS bottling, another first (note) for me; a 17yo Glen Moray whisky.

.teaninich - 30yo - smws 59.50 - comfortable in the chesterfield

Another mystery smws release. Well, nit such a mystery at all, because the list of numbers is out there if you know how to type "smws" and "code" or something similar in Google. It appears that I have never before reviewed a Teaninich before, so it is about time...

.glen grant 25yo - smws 9.82 - breathe in long!

We joined in a "whisky for a year" bottle share back in 2014, where we received an smws bottle(share) each month. Good times, I only never got around to taste them until now. A shame really...

.linkwood 23yo - smws 39.92 - dessert wine and smoking jacket

Compared her to her sister cask, that was distilled on the same day, matured in similar fashion, for a similar length of time and bottled in the same year. Funny how different this can turn out. This bottling was intended for the Canadian market, and we must have obtained it via a bottle share, for this comparison.

.smws - 54.33 - holidays and honeymoons

Little investigation leads us to know this is a 12yo Aberlour that has matured in a refill ex-Bourbon barrel. Quite rare to find an ex-Bourbon Aberlour, since the distillery has a habit of using Sherry dominated or vattings of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks.
