.glen grant 25yo - smws 9.82 - breathe in long!

We joined in a "whisky for a year" bottle share back in 2014, where we received an smws bottle(share) each month. Good times, I only never got around to taste them until now. A shame really...

52.1% abv, €120
single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: sweet, vanilla sugar, fruity, apples, earthy, wet leaves
Palate: sweet, sticky, vanilla honey, fruity, warm apple sauce, spicy, a hint of cinnamon, rather dry
Finish: sweet, medium long, vanilla cream, marshmallows, fruit, apples, citrus, floral, chrysanthemum
Mark: +++/++

Conclusion: quite nice. The floral bit in the end is a bit off-putting for me, but meh, she is okay. I tried breathing in long, but that did not change much for me.

More info: distilled on April 18, 1988, matured in an ex-Sherry butt for 25 years, to be filled into 416 bottles in 2014
