.glen moray - smws - 35.112 - perfect storm of flavours

Another SMWS bottling, another first (note) for me; a 17yo Glen Moray whisky.

51.8% abv, €??
single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: sweet, vanilla, toffee, fudge, cotton candy, fruity, green apples, granny Smith, red fruit, berries, red currant, strawberries, cream, unsalted butter, spicy, ginger, citrus, lemon zest, marmalade
Palate: sweet, firm creamy body, vanilla, fruity, apples, granny Smith, pears, citrus, lemons, spice, fresh ginger
Finish: long, sweet, vanilla, citrus, orange zest, marmalade bitter
Mark: +++++

Conclusion: Nothing big. A lot of ex-Bourbon influence, not much left of the original spirit.

More info: distilled on 17-12-1996, matured in a first fill "designer cask" for 17 years, bottled into 143 bottles in 2014.
