The 17th door of the Drinks by the Dram WhiskyAdvent Calendar 2015 reveals Mackmyra's core expression. A light Swedish whisky matured primarily in first fill bourbon barrels but also includes whisky aged in Sherry and Swedish oak casks, as well as some smokier malt.

41.4% abv, €40, single malt

Nose: sweet, vanilla, marshmallows, fruity, berries, raspberries, mint, eucalyptus, spicy, cumin, citrus, tangerines

Palate: sweet, vanilla, toffee, creamy, a hint of smoke, fruity, berries, raspberries, spicy, white pepper, a hint of laurel

Finish: medium long, sweet, toffee, fruity, apples, spicy, thyme, laurel
Mark: +++++ 

Conclusion: I am quite surprised by this Swede. She is not something really exciting, but there is something really nice about her. Just good stuff.
