.kilchoman - 5yo - abbey whisky #285/09

Not a classic Kilchoman, if there even exists such a thing, but the characteristics are there. Cask #285/09 has spent four and a half years in an ex-Bourbon and four months in a PX for a finishing touch, and with the already beautiful spirit this cask combination is pretty good if you like your whiskies to be "a bit" on the sweet and smoky side.

58.3% abv, €107, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: burning wood, burning coals, ash, mint, eucalyptus, liquorice, fruit, bananas
Palate: sweet, very gentle, sticky, honey, NONE of the burny-ashy notes, liquorice
Finish: sweet, honey, sticky, ash, burnt wood, campfire, liquorice
Mark: ++++/+

Conclusion: This is really, really nice. Nuff said.

Only 270 bottles were filled with this beautiful liquid.

Many thanks to Abbey Whisky for sending us this sample
