.glencadam - 22yo - abbey whisky

Distilled in 1991, aged in a refill ex-Bourbon cask for 22 years and bottled into 96 bottles in 2014, this Glencadam is the fourth release of Abbey whisky's the Rare Casks portfolio.

55.3% abv, €104, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: earthy, mushrooms, sweet, clover, heather in Autumn, citrus, a hint of tobacco leaves, fresh cigars (unlit), a hint of leather
Palate: sweet, honey, citrus, grapefruit, pineapple, spicy, white pepper, cinnamon
Finish: sweet, honeysuckle, citrus, grapefruit, tobacco leaves, fresh ground coffee
Mark: ++++/+

Conclusion: She could have had more time in the cask, because there is nothing nasty-woody to be found here, but I am glad they decided to bottle when they did. In my book, this is a beauty.

thanks to Abbey Whisky for sending us a sample of this whisky
