.millstone - 100 rye - 8yo

50% abv, €45, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: sawdust, sweet, paint, spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, menthol, eucalyptus, citrus, oranges, musty, mushrooms, floral, clovers
Palate: sweet, clover honey, spicy, jalapeños, cinnamon, cloves, sage, laurel, floral, clover, heather
Finish: dry, spicy, nutmeg, cloves, sage
Mark: +++++

Conclusion: nice. This is one to be in the mood for. I really liked the 5 year old single cask from Millroys some time ago, and this also is really worth your while, but the three extra years this has changed it a lot. Pretty sure I liked the younger version better, but I can imagine having a bottle of this too, just to make sure. Try not to add too much water, it gets bland real easy...

More info: Careful, this is 100% rye, and quite different from  when you would expect a single malt.
