.millstone - 12yo - sherry cask

46% abv, €70, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: sweet, vanilla, honey, wood, sawdust, pomegranate, cranberries, dried fruit, sultanas, raisins, citrus, limes, spices, kurkuma, cardamom
Palate: sweet, honey, red fruit, berries, cherries, spicy, white pepper, dry, dried fruits, cranberries
Finish: dry, long, sweet, slight sour, walnuts, medium marmalade like bitter, metallic wood - if that made sense
Mark: +++++

Conclusion: The nose is brilliant, I could be sniffing this for ages, but sadly, at some point you must start sipping too. The taste and finish are nice too, but are a bit timid compared to the nose, and leave a slight bitter afterthought. Good stuff, without the metallic wood it would be great.
