46% abv, €75, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: sweet, honey, 7-up, a strong Pedro Ximénes sherry presence, hard herbs and spices, sage, rosemary, mint, eucalyptus, nutmeg, ginger, laurel, liquorice, gingerbread
Palate: sweet, honey, Pedro Ximénes sherry, floral, violets, fat mouthfeel, salted butter, spicy, white pepper, ginger
Finish: dry, sweet, spicy, liquorice, ginger, ginger bread, a slight bitter beer
Mark: ++++/+

Conclusion: There is a abundance of Pedro Ximénes sherry present, which is nice - if you would like that. Is is quite a "sherry-bomb", with a rather unexpected, slightly bitter, hop like beer finish. It is unclear to me if this has solely matured in ex-Pedro Ximénes sherry casks, or that she has been finished for a part of the 14 year long period. As far as I can tell this might just be one of the oldest pruducts from the Dutch distillery to date. I would really like to have one of these bottles in our collection.

More info: distilled on 16/02/1999, matured in ex-Pedro Ximénes Sherry casks, bottled on 27/08/2013
