Conclusion: Not that impressed. For something that calls itself "the godfather of modern day gins", this is not really something I would easily confuse with a modern day gin, which easily are more fragrant and full of flavour. It is a bit... boring, if you don't mind me saying so.
More info: created of (partly) 17 years aged malt wine with a handful of herbs and botanicals. More old style jenever than gin, in which category it would stand out as a smooth, straight drink. Not to be confused with gin. Mixed with a good Tonic, it just doesn't stand out. In the wild growing forest of gin, it doesn't really stand out as one would expect.
