.the balvenie - 15yo - single barrel sherry cask

Door number eight of the Drinks by the Dram Advent calendar 2015, revealed a 3cl bottle of a 15yo Balvenie, that has matured in an ex-Sherry cask. The cask number remains covered, sadly.

47,8% abv, €105, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: sweet, fruity, apples, warm apple sauce, red fruits, raspberries, fresh strawberries, a hint of red wine
Palate: sweet, honey, floral, buttercups, spicy, white pepper, jalapeño peppers, fruity, red fruits, berries, raspberries
Finish: long, warm, dried fruits, raisins, apple sauce

Mark: +++++ 

Conclusion: As with many of these single cask Balvenies, this is another very nice one. I cannot remember others to be this hot though, as they are all bottled at the same strength, but with a drop of water, this will do just fine...
