On my father's 70th birthday, the Drinks by the Dram's WhiskyAdvent Calendar 2015 door number 13 opens to a pleasant surprise; a Glendronach of merely 12 years of age.

43% abv, €35, single malt

Nose: sweet, rich, toffee, butterscotch, stone fruit, plums, dried fruits, raisins, dried fruits, nutty, almonds, chestnuts

Palate: sweet, dried fruits, raisins, sherry, dark chocolate, creamy, roasted coffee beans, sweetened coffee, mocha

Finish: long, dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, creamy,
Mark: +++/++ 

Conclusion: If you are a sherry monster, you are going to love this. Personally I have to be in the mood for something this overly sweet.
