.glen scotia - double cask

On day 7 of the Drinks by the Dram Advent calendar, we find a double matured Glen Scotia. Finished in a combination of first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels and PX ex-Sherry casks.

46% abv, €52, single malt

Nose: sweet, vanilla, fresh green wood, mint, green herbs, thyme, rosemary, fruits, apples, peach, apricots
Palate: sweet, spicy, white pepper, fruity, apples, creamy mouth feel
Finish: sweet, dried fruits, herbs, laurel, a hint of sage, medium long
Mark: +++/++

Conclusion: Rather nice. Previous editions of the official bottling of Glen Scotia, seemed not to be doing it for me entirely, but with this release I just am convinced that, with proper cask management, they can claim their place in my cabinet.

.many thanks to the kind people of Drinks by the Dram to let us review their 2015 advent calendar
