.bruichladdich - 1994 - micro provenance - cask #013

This 21 year old has spebt most of her time on Islay in an ex-bourbon cask, to get a final year in an ex-Sauternes barrel (of unknown origin).

50.5% abv, €125, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: sweet, peaches, honey, a wet malt-floor, floral, honeysuckle, nuts, almonds, hazelnuts, creamy, fruity, pears
Palate: sweet, honey, fruity, apricots, mangos, nuts, almonds, hazelnuts, creamy, whipped cream, slightly dry, citrus, oranges, a hint of milk chocolate, 
Finish: Nutty, fruity, pears, somewhere between creamy and dry (cottage cheese?),
Mark: +++/++ 

Conclusion: Stuff, with things.

More info: distilled in 1994, spent 20 years in a refill ex-Bourbon hogshead, on day 214 in 2014 she got transferred (finished, or "aged" in Bruichladdich terminology) to Sauternes barrel #013 from the Bordeaux region. Number of bottles returned; 253.
