Nose: sweet, toffee, fudge, caramel apple, young, grain, hay, maltbarn
Palate: sweet, rather hot from the alcohol, fudgy, the fruity taste that new-make can have sometimes, pears, mangos
Finish: young, hay, fresh malts, rather long
Mark: +++++

Conclusion: I added a generous splash of water (as I tend to do sometimes - because well, I am a generous person), to get done with the sharpness of the alcohol. This did exactly what I liked it to do, opening the dram from sharp and young to sweet and fudge-like on the nose. Taste-wise it became much more palatable and rather fruity again and the finish was less raw and upped the mark by quite a bit.
One must really be in the mood to pour oneself a dram of this, and - as the Mrs. put it - breakfast might just be the right time.

Many thanks to Andy "the Maltman" Hart for the sample.
