.the arran - devils punchbowl - chapter 3

The third and final chapter of the Arran Malt's The Devil's Punchbowl trilogy called "The Fiendish Finale", which shall be released on the 30th of July 2014. As with the previous chapters, the whisky is put together from a series of hand picked casks, this time consisting of eight ex-Sherry butts, eight French Oak Barriques and five ex-Bourbon barrels. In the previous editions there was a certain quantity of peated casks, but these have been omitted for this version.

Conclusion: Top-notch. Even with a generous amount of water, she likes to scratch your palate and throat with her nails. She has the signature scents and flavours of the Arran whisky, with some layers of extra other sweetness an fruitiness. We have already placed a pre-order with one of our favourite resellers. Besides that she is a beautiful whisky fit for our collection, we have planned a little threesome, with all three Devils at one tasting. The 10cl sample provided by the Whisky Wire and the Arran Malt, is a nice prelude to that wonderful evening. Watch this space...
