.tamdhu - 2004-2013 - the ultimate

60,6% abv, €45, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: sweet, toffee, nougat, citrus, orange peel, grapefruit, nuts, hazelnuts, almonds
Palate: strong of alcohol, sweet, toffee, honey, fruit, apples, pears, citrus, oranges
Finish: medium long, dry, large amount of wood and tannins
Mark: +++/++

Conclusion: Strangely enough, there is very little to be found of the ex-Sherry butt, what leaves me to think the butt has been used as a re-fill. Lovely dram though, albeit enjoyed (much) better with a generous splash of water. The high abv holds back a lot of the finer notes.
