Nose: sweet, fruit, vanilla, fresh, sour grapes, honey
Palate: sweet, vanilla, spicy, white pepper, fruits, apples, coating mouthfeel honey, “thick”
Finish: sweet, medium long, vanilla, honey, flower field, clover, honey, heather, violets
Mark: ++/+++
Conclusion: Too sweet for my liking, might do well with a sweet dessert.
More info: all Arran finishes are built up from a 7yo matured in ex-Bourbon casks, finished during 6 months in a wine cask. There were many different finishes, which are cut back to three that fit the profile best: Sauternes, Amarone and Port.
Tasted at the Arran distillery, as part of the Gold tour
