.100% Islay |
Nose: fresh apples, citrus fruits, flowers, heather, violets, bees wax, honey
Palate: fruity, citrus, butterscotch
Finish: medium long, heavy, quite young, spirity, white peppers, lots of fruit
Score: +++++
Conclusion: wonderful easy going dram, with a wow factor.
More info: 100% Islay produced from barley to bottling, bourbon cask matured, non chill-filtered and natural colour at 46% abv. Master distiller Jim McEwan likes to think of this dram as one of his daughters whereas the Port Charlottes and Octomores are seen as sons. For me, this is a bottle to get hold of some day.
Tasting note created during Jim McEwan's masterclass on Feis Ile 2013
