"Gordon & MacPhail bottles a series of single malt whiskies from one of the world's most famous distilleries - Macallan. Established in 1824 the distillery overlooks some of the finest fishing beats on the River Spey."

40% abv, €45, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: sweet, toffee, wet barley, breakfast cereal, floral, geraniums, fruit, apples, raisins, citrus, lemons
Palate: sweet, toffee, floral, fruit, apple juice, raisins, citrus, lemon
Finish: sweet, short, floral, geraniums
Mark: +++++

.the macallan - fine oak - 12

40% abv, €35, single malt, natural color

Nose: citrus, grapefruits, fresh, sweet, vanilla
Palate: citrus, grapefruits, lemons, vanilla
Finish: short, citrus, oranges, marmalade
Mark: ++/+++

Conclusion: It is OK. Really. But it is so balanced, that I find it rather boring.

.the macallan - 10 - sherry oak

40% abv, €40, single malt, natural color

Nose: sweet, dark chocolate, raisins, fresh, mint, eucalyptus, fruit, overripe sweet apples, vanilla
Palate: red fruit, blackberries, sweet, chocolate, apricot
Finish: long, sweet, chocolate, sherry, dry
Score: +++++

Conclusion: Nice one. She started a little slow, but is actually quite nice. Gets better over time.
