.old pulteney - 17yo

One step up from the 12yo, Old Pulteney has a 17yo in the middle of their core range. Aged in both ex-Bourbon as well as ex-Sherry casks.

46% abv, €70
single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: sweet, treacle, vanilla, marshmallows, fruity, sweet red apples, peaches, nectarines
Palate: sweet, vanilla, treacle, sweet tropical fruit, mango, kiwi, hints of pineapple, peaches, nectarine, red apples
Finish: medium long, sweet, creamy, fruity, apples, peaches, nectarine, red apples
Mark: +++++ 

Conclusion: This is quite good. It also is quite up there if we are speaking about money. Sweet and very accessible, very nice as an aperitif or as a treat drizzled over a scoop of vanilla ice cream with some dark chocolate and honey...
