.wolfburn - 2yo

The first Wolfburn distillates just turned three, so the most Northern whisky distillery on Scottish mainland is now officially a whisky distillery. This particular spirit was distilled in 2013, has matured in a 2nd fill quarter cask ever since, and was poured to us at the Potstill festival in Amersfoort.

46% abv, €not for sale, single malt spirit
non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: fresh cream, malty, fruity, uncooked apple pie, unripe red fruit, unripe berries, a hint of liquorice and vanilla
Palate: creamy, sweet oil, thin honey, maple syrup, fresh cream, malt, cookie dough, citrus, grapefruit, zest
Finish: short, young, malty, dry, citrus, grapefruit, zest, a hint of smoked embers
Mark: +++/++

Conclusion: Very promising. We were told they are bottling their first whisky in 2016.

.many thanks Jan Beek to supply us with a sample for a serious note
