.balcones - texas rum

Texas Rum distilled from Barbados & blackstrap molasses, aged in American and European oak casks.

63.9% abv, €140, rum

Nose: sweet, rum-y, spicy, cinnamon, herbs, thyme, marjoram,
Palate: hot hot hot! (add water), sweet, sugar, cinnamon, the same green herbs again
Finish: sweet, medium long, same herbs, mineral (metallic? chalky?) long lasting finish
Mark: +++/++

Conclusion: I am no rum lover (there is a scent and flavour that is specific to rum that is a bit too much for me), but this is somewhere between good and almost whisky like (!)
