.the balvenie - 12yo - signature

40% abv, €45, single malt

Nose: gentle, wood, vanilla, raisins
Palate: gentle, sweet, caramel, citrus
Finish: short, wood, sweet, butter
Mark: +++++

Conclusion: I would rather buy a bottle of the Balvenie Doublewood 12, instead of this one; it is missing something. Not that it is a bad dram - far from that, but it is quite - lacking a better word - boring.

More info: Three different cask types have been married in order to create this whisky: a first-fill ex-Bourbon, a refill ex-Bourbon and an ex-Sherry cask. First appeared on the market to honour Balvenie's Malt Master David Steward's 45 years of active duty in the whisky industry.
It is not being created any longer.
