.imperial - 1991 - gordon & macphail

15, 17 or 19?
43% abv, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: full and round, with whiffs of honey, apple pie, heather blossom and cereal grains
Palate: there is a gentle soft taste, with a spicy pepper on the palate, and again, hints of honey and breakfast cereals
Finish: a long, fresh finish with vanilla and a tiny marmalade bitter
Overall: not complex, but a nice balanced dram to enjoy on a summer's evening

More info:
There were some different bottelings of this 1991 vintage, so I have not been able to deduct if it was bottled in 2006, 2008 or 2010.

The whiskies from these Distillery Labels series of Gordon & Macphail have been established in cooperation with the distilleries that in that period had none or hardly any official bottlings, making this more or less the unofficial, official bottling.
